Forgot to report :) On 10.21 next version was released to the Google android market and few others as well. Plenty of new features, bugfixes, stremlined UI to be more like the rest of it. Added "Recently viewed" feature as per user request. Dude who requested it, owes me 5 star rating for sure :)

Wow, what a surprise form apple, or may be third time was a charm? Unlike previous two versions, review process took 7 business days(9 if we count just days), instead of 10 business days. What a progress :) 30% faster... Imagine that, reviewing small app again and again, with improved efficiency, who says Apple won't innovate and improve. Anyhow added listing support, iphone 5 support and few ui tweaks, designed to improve user productivity.

Sent the new version today. Can't say Apple makes it easy though. Complicated submission process, plus had to add new screenshots for iphone 5 and so on. All that on top of new features and iphone 5 support. Whatever, now another 2 weeks of waiting for the review and you'll have it.

Forgot to blog on 25, which is when knife steel composition chart for android mobiles broke 10000 download barrier :)

Got the tablet and docking pad for it. PQ is superb, but even though I prefer keyboard for typing, docking keyboard is still weird on the tablet. Too small compared to 17 or even inch laptops and not a tablet either... Dunnno. Anyway, all is cool, except the fact that I can't charge the damn thing from a PC. Needs to be plugged in to AC outlet. Like I said, now I have no excuse not to write tablet version of the Android Knife Steel App.

Well, basically the subj. As per multiple user requests, I've added support to run the app from SD card. Unfortunately, due to missing encryption on the SD card in native Android I had to leave data files on the device, which means about 1mb space is still required on the device. Otherwise, I'd have to drop support for older Android versions, below 2.1, and given the fact that several hundred users are still on those, can't do that.

For whatever reason, decided that I need a new android tablet, after all that one has full 1080p resolution. And that will be a good excuse to write knife steel chart for Android tablets. Last time I bought Galaxy tab, but never got motivated enough to write tablet version of the app. I suppose full HD tablet should do the trick ;)

Kershaw Knives facebook page features my apps on Jul. 10th :) Sure, it feels good to get my appz endorsed by major knife maker, especially when it's one of my favorites. Kershaw, Shun and Zero Tolerance are all owned by Kai cutlery. Kershaw knives reviews here and Shun Knives reviews here. As much as I dislike facebook, it still is good :) Give them a like if you stop by there.

Took a long time to get through all the hurdles, but finally the app is published, and available for free. 4700 alloy names for now, with ~900 compositions, 17 international steel standards and up to 5 alloy comparison capability. Syncs with central database as well.

Tough day. First I've released 3.50 which had rather large set of new features, specifically, alloy listings based on standard, makers, countries and technologies. Earlier, only quick Standard switching was supported. Plus, added rte me button, may be that'll make it easier for ppl to rate the app. And in 1 hour after release I found a crash, which happened only on older android versions. Took another 2 hours to fix, test, package and publish 3.51... I guess serves me well for not testing on the old device before releasing the app.
