AISI 420 steel One of the oldest and mostwidel used steels in the knives and I had the composition off... I suspect it was messed up back when the database didn't support alloy groups with multiple compositions. Well, it's all good now, according to AISI specs.

Next version is up with tons of updates, improvements and most importantly, with synchronization with central database. Details in the application page. Unfortunately, I had to change app id, so downloading the new version won't replace the old one, you need to remove the old app manually, sorry. I've lost all the good ratings on the app in the process too :(

Technically it is not a steel, but a non ferrous, Nickel Chromium alloy. Invented in US, then copied/modded by Soviets and now produced in China as GNiCr40Al4 steel. I don't know neither American nor Russian names for it, so if you have extra info please let me know.

Solved 2 major issues, which were necessary to start the development of the new version :) Database upgrade functionality is ready. So, the existing users will not have to uninstall and loose existing settings. Second, switched the app to the new db schema. Went quite painlessly. After that, another major PITA to solve, synchronization of the mobile app with the server database, which is the key feature of the 2.0 version, plus few things in the UI.

Finally I did it :) For Android smartphones, 1.6 and higher, the chart or database application is out. It's a snapshot of October 5, 2010, later I'll add online synchronization. Most of the online functionality from the Interactive Knife Steel Composition chart is there, including comparison graphs.
